Boden Qualify for Semi-final
Our Senior Hurlers returned to Leinster League duty on Saturday last. In glorious sunshine they played Lucan Sarsfields, on Lucan’s home pitch. The surface of which was not ideal for hurling. In a very competitive game, both teams showed great determination from the start but in the process conceded a lot of frees. Unfortunately for Boden the free taking, by different players, did not go well in the first half. On the other hand Lucan capitalised on their frees and led by 7pts to Boden’s 4pts at half-time. The Boden scores came from Gavin Corrigan (2) Collie O’Neill & James Roche (1 each).
Boden improved their performance greatly in the second half and points by Collie O’Neill & Gavin Corrigan left us one point down. Lucan then put over another point but that was quickly matched by a Matty Weldon point. While Lucan registered two more points, this was followed by Bodens best spell with great scores, including two each from Paul Doherty & Doc O’Connor and one each from Collie O’Neill & Finn McGarry. This left Boden 3pts ahead with full time fast approaching. However Lucan somehow managed to pop over 3pts to level the game in stoppage time.
The good news is that Boden go through on scoring average and play St. Vincents in the semi-final on the 11th April.

Note. Next Sunday morning 29th March the Senior A team is away to St. Vincents in the Dublin League, while the Senior B team will play Naomh Barrog in Sancta Maria. Both Games at 10.30 am. All support very welcome.
