On a sunny Sunday afternoon in Pairc Ui Murchu, our U16 A ladies football team were delighted to play on our hallowed ground.
The game was slow to start and the Boden girls were first to score with a well executed point. The first half of the game was end to end and Boden went into the break with a score line of 1-06 to 1-01. The Boden defence were phenomenal, the tackling and support runs were too much for the visitors and Boden were always ahead for the whole game. When Clanna Gael were awarded a penalty, Boden’s goal keeper showed her nerves of steel and made a great save.
The Ballyboden midfield steadied the ship and delivered the ball to the forwards who kept chipping away and the game finished Ballyboden 2-11 to Clanna Gael 3-02.
