Ballyboden St.Endas 0-13; Lucan Sarsfields 1-10
The Ballyboden Senior Camogie team had their final outing in the league on Tuesday evening at Pairc Ui Mhurchu and could consider themselves unlucky to draw the game.
Boden got off to a good start notching several points with the aid of a strong breeze. Some fine scores from play and placed balls from both teams resulted in a half time lead for Boden, 0-10 to 0-5.
Lucan piled on the pressure on resumption and with the breeze now behind them scored five unanswered points levelling the contest 10 points apiece. It looked to be Lucan’s game at the midway point of the half but, despite enormous pressure, Boden rallied back and scored three unanswered points. Heading toward the end of the contest and 3 points ahead it looked as if Boden had weathered the storm. A late free on the 20 mere line was awarded to Lucan and they had to go for goal. The free was struck low and hard and was partially blocked but the bounce of the ball fell nicely for a Lucan forward who parried to the net. The final whistle was blown and whilst unlucky to concede a last minute goal, a draw was seen as a fair result.
Well done to Boden for a strong rally in the second half and to both teams for an excellent contest.
