This weekend 13th/14th April the Dublin Ladies Football Feile takes place out in Naomh Mearnóg, and St. Sylvester’s. Ballyboden have entered 3 teams in the competition, – Division 1, Division 3 and Division 6. Three panels totalling 59 girls will head for Portmarnock wearing the Boden Jersey in what promises to be a festival of football through out the weekend. Over the past few months an enthusiastic and committed group of mentors led by Ned Flood, Brendan Young, Paul Manning, James Brooks and Jim Dwyer have been busy coaching and preparing their teams for this annual U14 competition.
In addition to all the work carried out on the pitch, a very active fundraising committee have been busy running Discos and organising bag packing, raising funds to make sure that the girls are suitably kitted out for Feile. This is a weekend where families and friends of the players come out and show their support and encouragement with pride. Let’s hope on Sunday that we have a few teams in the Finals which will now take place in Lawless Memorial Park, Swords owing to pitch maintenance in Parnell Park and hopefully some silver back to Boden on Sunday evening.
