Cumann na Sáirséalaigh Leamhcáin 1 10 Baile Buadáin Naomh Éanna 1 18 Maidin álainn earraigh a bhí ann nuair a thug an dá fhoireann seo aghaidh ar a chéile i Leamhcán an Domhnach seo caite. Don chéad uair i mbliana bhí an chuid is mó de bhaill na foirne seo linn. Bhí iomaíocht ghéar ann ó thús na himeartha ach ní féidir ach le buaiteoir amháin ann (de ghnáth!) agus sa deireadh thiar thall bhí an lámh in uachtar ag Baile Buadáin Naomh Éanna. It was a beautiful sunny spring morning in Lucan for this well anticipated clash. This bones of this Lucan team had the upper hand over Ballyboden St Endas for the last couple of years but time has moved on and for the first time this year we had something approaching a full u19 squad to choose from. The game was only one minute old when Josh Corcoran was asked to step up and take a free from the halfway line and no better buachaill to deliver. Oisín Byrne was next to trouble the Lucan defenders but just as a possible route to goal opened up in front of him he took the more measured option and popped the sliotar over the bar. Jim Kennedy worked tirelessly around the midfield area and was next up to draw a foul. This was duly dispatched by Conall McGlynn to get himself off the mark for the day.Our u19s however have also been conceding a few frees lately and three dead ball strikes later Lucan were back in this game. Just as the momentum swung their way now the referee penalised Lucan twice in quick succession for Josh to point again. Cian Kelly then burst into life to score two unanswered points to leave Boden leading 0-9 to 0-5 at half time.Leon Kennedy was introduced at halftime for the hardworking Setanta Sudway. Ciarán Kiely was next to attack playing straight thought the midfield but was brought down by the most unprofessional of professional fouls! Josh Corcoran stepped forward and pointed once again. Barry Maguire with the help of Seán O’Shea and David Gannon marshalled the defence superbly and an interception from Maguire led to the next Boden score from Oisín Byrne.Oisín Byrne caused difficulty for the defence all day long and shortly after being taken out by the keeper while a goal chance loomed he burst through on goal again. This time the keeper saved well but John Farrington followed up and drove the ball into the back of the net.Sean Bury and Mattew Ormbsy in particular had the Lucan full forward line tied up and the introduction of Seán Wall strengthened the defence further. Lucan, however, were not to be denied their goal. A promising move down the right hand side finished with the sliotar being driven into the Boden net announcing that this game was on again!A tidy double save from Eoin Mac Pháidín in the goal and a quick distribution led to another fine point this time from Jim Kennedy.D’oibrigh foireann Bhaile Buadáin Naomh Éanna go han-dian i rith an chluiche agus bheadh brón orthu i ndáiríre nach raibh an bearna níos mó eatarthu ag an deireadh. Má leantar den fhás agus den fhorbairt beidh foireann láidir anseoWhen Davy Keogh and Evan Welsh entered the fray this game was in the balance. The u19s drove on and to be fair could have won by a lot more had we worn our shooting boots. A great morning’s work. Ní neart go cur le chéile!
