Our Junior D team set out on their Championship Journey on Friday evening in a windy Castleknock and were unlucky to come out on the losing side.
Before throw in there was a minutes silence for Dee Finn, the much loved Aunt of panel member Jack Finn.
Playing against the wind in the first half Boden Started well with Aiden Dundon getting the first of his 4 scores. Shane Herity got a point before James Kinsella was unlucky to have his shot saved by their keeper. As is the way of things, from that save Castleknock went up the other end to score a goal. Boden bounced back with Ben O’Riordan making a fantastic penalty save before Tom White and James Kinsella added points.
Half Time Castleknock 1-5 Boden 0-4
Boden were very much in the game with fine points from Aidan Dundon and Shane Herity. Boden were unfortunate as the influential pair of Fergus Tighe and Shane Herity had to go off injured. Castleknock struck a couple of goals and it was now an uphill task for Boden. Ron Kelliher got a great goal but a few further Castleknock scores killed the game off. Still Boden battled back with fine score from Conor McGrath and Tom White.
