Ladies Junior B Championship.

The championship season for the Ladies Senior B team started on Wednesday 18th May away to St. Peregrines in Clonsilla.  The team was missing a number of key players on the night and despite a strong second half performance they lost out on a scoreline of 4-12 to 1-14.  The game was very even throughout the first half until a 5 minute spell before half time when we conceded 3-2.  This gave St. Peregrines a huge lift going into the second half and despite outscoring them in this half St. Peregrines eventually came out winners by a margin of 7 points.

The second game at home to Foxrock Cabinteely on Sunday evening 22nd May on the main pitch was an entirely different affair.  Despite very wet conditions the team put in a tremendous performance and emerged with a victory on a scoreline of 3-16 to 0-3.  The team got off to a flying start with a goal and a number of points in the first few minutes and they never looked back. More outstanding scores followed in the first half and they had built up a commanding lead by half time.  The team maintained their dominance in the second half and although there were no further goals they added many fine points throughout the half. The team has a good blend of youth and experience from minors to seasoned campaigners who know what’s needed to win a championship game.  There were many strong individual performances but this was more of a complete team performance.  Next up in the Group stages of the championship is a game away to Kilmacud Crokes. There is every chance of moving to the knock out stages if we can repeat the performance against Foxrock Cabinteely.
