Minor B Footballer’s secure league runner-up spot.

Minor B v St Catherines Westmanstown 30/6/19

The 4 seasons all appeared in the space of 1 hour 15 minutes of the Minor B’s final league match on Sunday morning in Westmanstown. Overcast and windy changed to sunshine, then to showers then back to wind and finished off with another shower. In fairness to the lads they just got on with it. St Catherines scored first before ‘Boden struck back with a three pointer as the game flowed from end to end with no team really taking control for long periods. By half time, us visitors were three points up but with plenty to do if the win was to be secured.

The second half was much as the first which each team answering the others’ scores. Catherines even took the lead for a spell.  Finally in the last5 minutes, ‘Boden did come to grips with game to clip on a goal and a point to secure the win. A tight game which won’t go down as a classic but the points men that this team is guaranteed runners up in the league after only one blotch on the report card being a defeat to St Brigids who have not dropped any points all season.

Next on the agenda is Champo, for which training begins this week. Well done to the lads on a great league performance – now for the big one!
