The Minor (U18) Ladies continued their good run of form with a win out at 12th Lock, Lucan on Monday evening.

With 4 wins out of 4, they are now topping Division 1 having previously beaten Vincents, Kilmacud and St Brigids.

The team renewed their rivalry with Lucan Sarsfields which had started when they were under 9’s and has carried through all the years with always an extra edge to their matches.

The first half was tight and when Lucan scored a goal just before half time to take the lead, the crowd sensed that this could be their day. However, crucially this sparked the Boden girls into action. They won the resulting kick out, worked the ball up the pitch with their best move of the half finished off by Kate to retake the lead within a minute and send the girls into half time with a 2-point lead.

Points were exchanged in the 2nd half, but the Boden girls started to exert more pressure and a goal from Karyn gave a little bit of comfort. With the luxury of all 24 players in the squad being available, the challenge was to rotate the team line up while keeping control of the game. Lucan scored a late goal to bring the gap back to 5 points, but the Boden girls saw out the remaining minutes to secure the win.

Full Time Score: Ballyboden St Endas U18 A 3-10 Lucan Sarsfields 2-08
