Due to a walkover in the last round of matches, it had been a month almost to the day since this group of players had taken to the field. The initial sparring between the two teams would not have shown this however as the ‘Boden team put up three early points before TSS really got going at all. The home team did take over for the latter part of the first half and would have been very far ahead at half time where it not for a ‘Boden goal from Cam Hassett just before the sos. This left the gap at the break at 5 points in Synger’s favour.

The second half was all ‘Boden where patience and cool heads ensured an 8 point turn around.  Right from the throw in, the intent was shown with a great run through the middle from Eoin Gannon. A second yellow for their number 9 meant ‘Boden had numerical advantage for a large part of the half.  Feargal Ryan, as the extra man marshalled the defence with a guile and wisdom beyond his years. The lead was eaten away and with only a few minutes remaining, a Patrick Molloy free ensured ‘Boden were in front as the final whistle approached. There was still time for two more points for the visitors and another second yellow for Templeogue, as ‘Boden held out for a well deserved win.

So far, that’s a win, a draw and a walk over for this group which puts them in good shape fro the visit of league leaders St Bridget’s in two week s time.

Keep it going lads.
