The inaugural Noel Madden Memorial Golf Tournament took place on Friday morning last in Lisheen Springs Golf Club. The outing was organised by a number of Noel’s former playing partners with the support of the Boden Golf Society. James Madden represented the family at the event and he was joined by some of his friends. A large number of Boden members also took part.
Conditions were good and this made for some low scoring on the morning. Joe Roche was a popular winner, ensuring the trophy returned to Templeroan for the year. Joe fondly remembered Noel in his “Victory” speech and he proudly accepted the trophy from Michael O’ Mahoney who presented the trophy on behalf of the organising committee with the assistance of Society Supremo, Ned Slattery.
