Ballyboden Ladies B team opened their 2022 League campaign in Division 3 with a win over Kilmacud Crokes on a very windy Prunty pitch last Wednesday evening.

Short many of our regulars, things were looking ominous when we lost the toss and had to play into a gale-force wind blowing from the Templeroan end.
However, excellent defending from our always reliable backs and some incredible wayward shooting from the Crokes forwards saw us reach the 20-minute mark with Crokes yet to score.
That all changed when Crokes were awarded a somewhat fortuitous penalty which they converted despite the best efforts of Danielle in goal.
Both sides tagged on single points and the half-finished with the score reading Crokes 1 01 to Bodens 0 01
With the wind in our favour in the second half, the pressure was off and we ran out comfortable winners on a score of 1 06 to 1 02
Scorers: Kiara Cunningham 1 goal, Kate Kavanagh 0:02, Sarah Burns 0:02, Ellen Sweeney 0:02
Numbers were tight across all the teams on Wednesday last so it was great to have the support from our minors with Alva Dunne, Ailbhe Christie, Aisling Quinn and Ellen Sweeney making their adult football league debuts.
It is always a boost to see players coming from injury and it was nice to have Aoife Dwyer, back on the field again after her injury
Team: Danielle Alymer, Rachel Nugent, Helena McWalters, Alva Dunne, Aisling McElvanney, Cliodhna Ni Sullivan, Kelly Whelan,
Erica Tobin, Megan Conway, Grace Campbell, Sarah Burns, Kiara Cunningham, Beth Molloy, Kate Kavanagh, Ailbhe Christie

Thanks to Kieran and Aoife Dwyer from our Minor Management for making players available
