The Annual Poc Fada takes place in Cherryfield on Saturday next. The event will take place over a specially designed course which ahs been lengthened this year to make it a little more challenging for our Adult hurlers. Teams of three will take turns to try and complete the course in the fewest number of shots. Length of the strike is important but accuracy and strategy is essential to ensure safe passage around the course. Striking the sliotar over trees and avoiding the rough will require care and co-operation among the team members. Each team will be accompanied by a referee to ensure no short cuts are taken and to penalise teams where necessary!!
This event is very popular among the Adult hurlers and we are delighted to welcome Storyhouse as our event sponsor this year.
The first “tee time” is 2.00pm and teams will tee off every 8 minutes. Please support our Adult Hurlers as they make their way around Cherryfield and all are welcome to join us for the prize giving in the club house at 8pm on Saturday evening. This will be an opportunity to mingle with our Adult Hurlers before the final push for Championship glory in the coming weeks. Please join us during the day and in the clubhouse that evening. Finger food will be served from 8pm
