Ballyboden St.Endas Vs. St. Vincents Senior A Championship
Senior A Camogie Championship – 25th August 2019
The Ballyboden St.Enda’s Senior A Camogie team’s first outing in this year’s championship was against St. Vincents, arguably one of the favourites for this year’s title. The Marino outfit stormed into the lead in the first half and led by 1-8 to 0-1 at half time. Despite Bodens best efforts, this trend continued into the second half with St. Vincents outscoring the Boden girls 1-8 to 1-3 and winning comfortably in the end by 2-16 to 1-04. However, the final scoreline flattered St. Vincents somewhat as the Boden girls fought magnificently throughout the entire game and their efforts were not reflected in the final scoreline. It was a physical contest and whilst Boden were able to match their opponents in this respect, the broader experience and guile of the St. Vincents team, told in the end. Arguably this is Bodens toughest assignment out of the way and the championship continues in earnest next weekend at home against the reigning champions, Naomh Jude.
