Result: 0 – 11 to 1 – 4

Ballyboden St Endas 0 – 11  Naomh Jude 1 – 4

Boden were pushed all the way by a tenacious Naomh Jude who threatened an upset when Aoife Kelly goaled two minutes into the second half.  However the same player had a chance to level the game in the 49th minute but her effort from a free sneaked outside the post.  From the resultant puck out, Boden won possession and Kim Hickey finished a good move with a neat point.

It was an important turning point as Boden developed a momentum after that and finished the game with points by Elaine Hickey and Ciara Lucey.

Both sides were guilty of several wides with Boden totting up 15 and Judes not far off on 11.  Free-taking was off key and accounted for a sizeable number of missed chances.

Boden’s half-back line was probably their best sector with Joanne O’Sullivan having a fine game at centre back and well supported by Orla Smith and Susan Kennedy.

Jude’s attack looked dangerous the closer they got to the Boden goals and Aoife Kelly was their main threat.

Defensively Helen Cosgrave (goals), Tara Corrigan and Edel Murphy put in good performances.

Next up for Ballyboden is Good Counsel while Naomh Jude will take on last year’s champions Naomh Mearnóg who will be battling to stay in the championship.
