Senior B match report – Wednesday 3rd July
Ballyboden B Ladies welcomed Clontarf B to PUM last Wednesday for a rescheduled league fixture. Playing with the wind in the first half, Boden went on the attack from the throw-in. Boden clocked up an early lead with a goal from forward Eliz Manning quickly followed by points from fellow forwards Eva Cunningham and Hannah O’Gorman. Clontarf got on the scoreboard with a point midway through 1st half, and kept the hardworking Boden defense (Gráinne, Jenny, Helena, Una, Katie McCabe and Katie Quinlivan) and midfielders (Sinead and Michelle assisted by Cathy O’Neill) thwarting the Clontarf attack. Just before the break, the Boden defense was breached with a Clontarf goal to reduce the Boden lead. However, Liz struck again for Boden with a point to maintain the lead at half time after some good approach work from Leah and Ella. Minor players Sadhbh Dunne and Ella Curtin made their senior debuts early in the second half. Boden impact subs Aoife, Bronagh and Lauren, all tagged on points to increase the Boden lead. The best move of the match came in the closing minutes – a Boden turnover of a Clontarf possession led to a sweeping Boden attack, and ended with Lauren putting a ‘rocket’ of a shot into the Clontarf net.
Final score BBSE 2-09 to Clontarf 1-05

The Senior B management and players wish Una McGinn all the best, as she relocates to the West of Ireland, and announced after the game it was her last game in Boden Blue (for now…). Best of luck Una, you will be missed!
