On Thursday evening Ballyboden Senior C faced Whitehall in Junior 2 camogie championship semi final. In a very competitive match the Boden girls and Whitehall traded early scores before Boden deservedly pulled ahead only for a late Whitehall goal to leave a slender one point lead at half-time.
The message was clear from the Boden camp that the second half was going to be a massive battle, and what a battle it was. Boden hit the crucial scores at crucial times to keep ahead of their Northside rivals. As the dusk began to descend on St. Aidans school Whitehall were still searching for a levelling point however Boden backs and forwards all put their bodies on line to keep Whitehall at bay.
The final whistle was met with cheers from the both sideline and on the pitch as Boden ran deserved winners on a score line of 3-6 to 2-10.
The girls have now qualified for final of Junior 2 against Good Counsel at 3pm on Sunday 18th of September in Iveagh Grounds. A fantastic achievement by all.
