Well done to our Ladies winning their 2nd Championship game in a goal-fest against Castleknock last Wednesday week (6th September) in Pairc Uí Mhúrchú.

Ballyboden St Endas v St Sylvesters, Wednesday 6th September Pairc Uí Mhúrchú 3rd Championship game, group stage

With a scoreline of 6-9 to 1-10, it was a boost to get their second successive Championship win. The hosts had three goals in the bag by the interval, 3-6 to 1-7, as they attacked the ball into the Firhouse end.

Within seconds of the throw in, Ballyboden came within inches of their 1st goal as Claire Kirwan’s shot almost broke the bar! Saoirse Behan of Castleknock however tucked in the opening goal of the game with Boden then responding with goals from the Rebecca McDonnell (two) and Kate Donaghy’s dipper.

Kate Donaghy’s dipper!

The second period had only begun when Kirwan drilled the ball to the roof with Julie Vaughan adding the fifth goal, Sarah Baynes the 6th.

The win should hopefully boost our ladies ahead of their must win game v Clontarf this evening 8pm in St Annes Park, No. 34.

The 2 teams will battle it out for 2nd place in the group and a coveted place in the Senior Championship Semifinal.

It would be great to get a good crew north side cheering on and supporting our ladies in this vital game. Boden Abú
