Ballyboden Senior Ladies Footballers are through to their first county final since 2011.

Having come through Group B of the championship in second place, the girls faced Group A table toppers St. Sylvesters in Broomfield for Wednesday evenings semi final. On a poor evening weather wise the  girls played into a very strong wind in the opening half. Playing very controlled football we led three points to five after the opening ten minutes before rattling the Sylvesters net for one of three first half goals.

As the half time whistle sounded the girls led 3:06 to 0:08 at the interval. The second half was a cagier affair as Sylvesters pushed forward trying to score the goal, which they hoped would kick start their revival. However the Boden rearguard held firm and the girls ran out winners in the end 3:11 to 0:12. As the travelling support celebrated the our player’s thoughts turned to the 1st of September and a County Final appearance versus either Kilmacud Crokes or Foxrock Cabinteely
