On Thursday evening the Senior B Camogie team made it 3 wins from 3 in the League with a comfortable win over an under-strength but hard working Crumlin side. We were down a number of players on a school trip, so this gave an opportunity for others to step in.

From the first whistle Boden were on the attack. Early points from Darina Ryan & Ciara Scallan were quickly followed by a goal from Áine O’ Brien. Crumlin tried hard but their only reward in the first half were 2 pointed 45’s. A string of 5 points in a row from Darina including a fine long range free from the half way line,  and another from Ciara Scallan gave Boden a half-time lead of 1-8 to 0-2. All of the backs were strong during the course of the half, and Ciara O’ Neill was very assured in goal with some fine distribution.

The second half was a case of more of the same, Boden on top all in all areas of the pitch. Orla Tevlin picked off a fine point, Darina with another point, then Ciara Scallan goaled from a fine move. The half back line were totally dominant throughout the game, with Gráinne Corcoran particulary prominent throughout the second half.  Claire Kirwan got in on the act with 2 points in a row, and Ciara Scallan got her second goal of the evening.

A fortuitous goal was Crumlin’s only score from play, and they also pointed a couple of frees. Amy Holmes scored a fine long range point before Ciara Scallan finished things off with another point. Final score 3-15 to 1-4.

All in all, a good performance with much to improve on. Numerous goal chances were spurned throughout the game and no doubt these would prove costly against stronger opposition. Next up is a trip next Thurday to Ringsend to face Clann na Gael, which will be a much tougher encounter.
