The Boden Braves, our training group for children with additional needs, has been running in Ballyboden St Enda’s GAA Club for over a year now. We have a great group of players ranging in age from 6 to 18 and a few older than that.
We train once a week, on Mondays from 6.30-7.30pm. We train indoors during the winter months in St Colmcille’s SNS and outside for the rest of the year.
Our coaches are from the club and many are senior players. We all get great enjoyment from meeting the Braves each week.
We hope to join up with other GAA clubs in the area this year and continue our link with Knocklyon United, Éanna Basketball and the Loreto Lions hockey club. Many of our players are members of these clubs too.
We have played at half time in a number of senior club matches. The Braves loved taking to the field in Páirc Uí Mhurchú in their jerseys.
We have a few fun trips planned for this year also so watch this space!
We are always looking for new members and coaches and would love to continue growing our group.
Our main goal is to ensure that Ballyboden St Enda’s GAA Club is an inclusive place for all our members and that there is a team for all to play on.
