UNDER 16 BOYS  ‘A’ FOOTBALL CHAMPIONSHIP  ROUND ONE 9 APRIL 2016
Ballyboden 3-17 St Margarets 0-3
Ballyboden Under 16A Boys Football panel began their ‘A’ Championship campaign with a comfortable first round win over St. Margarets at Páirc Úi Mhurchú on Saturday afternoon.
Adam Farrell was commanding behind a safe dominant defence of Daire Lynch, Killian Kirwan, Ruairí Mac Mathúna in the full back line. The pace and score set up of the half backs David Ward, Seán Heeran and Adam Carrigan proved invaluable to the players up front.
Kevin Desmond (Capt) and Luke Grady dominated the airways at midfield also getting on the scoresheet.
The workrate of Matthew Fitzpatrick, Jack Dalton and Luke McDwyer enable the full forward line of John Mc Ginn, Dylan Dunleavey and Ciaran O Reilly with a stream of scores.
The replacements Jack Kenny, Aiden Garvey, Evan Cullen, James Kinsella, Ciaran McDonald and Conor Woods made a huge contribution to the win while getting on the scoresheet at the same time.
The game kicked off at 3.30pm. Boden started well and a brilliantly worked Luke McDwyer goal put them in an early 1-2 to 0 lead. St Margarets hit back with a number of scores and were unlucky not to goal as the ball cannoned off the crossbar for a point. Boden led 1-2 to 0-2. Boden powered on again and with a number of points followed in quick sucession by goals from Ciaran O’Reilly and John McGinn.
Half time score Bodrn lead: 3-7 to 0-3 
Boden continued where they left off after half time with John McGinn opening the scoring in the second half, Boden added a futher 8 point without reply before James Kinsella rounded the days scoring off with a fine point.

They now take on Kilmacud Crokes in the Quarter Finals of the Championship with home advantage on Saturday 23rd April.

U16 Football “C” Championship.

Ballyboden 3-8  Geraldine Morans 3-5.

The U16B football team played hosts to Geraldine Morans in the first round of the Championship on Saturday afternoon in Ballycullen.

Ballyboden made the better start and went into an early lead by scoring the first 3 points. However we missed quite a few good scoring opportunities and Geraldine Morans came back into the game to lead by 1-3 to 0-5 at half time.

The second half was equally as close but the team showed great character and commitment to score goals at crucial times to run out winners by 3 points.
