U21s make it through to Division 3 Camogie Championship Final

Our U21B team travelled to Whitehall Colmcilles on Sunday morning for a semi-final clash in the Div 3 camogie championship. The Boden girls got off to a great start by registering 1:01 in the first 5 minutes of the game but Whitehall responded and drew level by the 11th minute. Both teams exchanged a few more scores but it was Whitehall who got the upper hand in the last few minutes of the 1st half and were 2pts ahead by half-time.

Whilst conceding the momentum in the 2nd quarter, the Boden girls were not for pushing around and came off the blocks at the start of the 2nd half and took back the lead within 5 mins. The game turned into a battle in all quarters of the pitch including several goal line scrambles both ends, but the Boden girls were relentless. Unfortunate to be down to 14 with 20mins to go, Boden started to edge ahead and control the game by digging deep, winning the physical battle and capitalising on hard won frees (the in-form Ruby converting 9 points from frees/45s).

‘Well-deserved’ is another term that has somewhat lost its meaning due to over use, however this was truly a well-deserved win over a very good Whitehall Colmcilles side.

FT score: Ballyboden  3:10  W. Colmcilles 1:10

The girls will play out the Division 3 final next Sunday, Dec 4th against St. Brigids in Abbotstown @ 14:30pm.
