U17A Hurling League Division 1.

BBSE 2 24 Castleknock 1 13

This maiden U17 Hurling League match at Pairc Ui Mhurchú  was played in good sunny conditions with a stiff breeze blowing westwards. Boden made a fine start with the team showing keenness and endeavour to get on top of their opposition early in the game. Sean Keary led the way with an excellent performance scoring 8 points from play. There was a good spread of scores throughout the forwards with Ryan Culleton and Kevin Byrne prominent and corner forward Zenan Spain scoring two goals. Boden led at Half time with an impressive tally of 2-14 to 0-4.

It became clear that the wind had provided Boden with good assistance in the first half as Castleknock fought back impressively after the break using the wind excellently to start the scoreboard ticking themselves. Boden settled down again ten minutes into the second half as Lee McConnell, Torna MacGearailt, John McSharry and James Rusk settled the nerves at the back. Both teams fought impressively to the end in a good, spirited contest.
