Result: 2-12 to 0-11

Early festive cheer was in the air at Santa Maria on Saturday at the U21s progressed to the final of the U21 C Championship. In front of a large home support Boden started well and led by a point at half time by 1-4 to 0-6. The second half was a livelier affair with Boden solid in defence and expertly taking their chances when the opportunities arose. The catalyst for the strong second half display was in no small measure due to Karl Reddy, Luke Corcoran and Charlie McPartland who were all outstanding in defence. Boden drove on and with Oisin Carolan and Rob Donoghue dominating midfield the forwards were able to capitalise with David Leech and Eoin Monaghan exceptional in attack and chances converted expertly by Ross McCormack, Laurence Murphy, Karl Weldon and Shane Kennedy. Special mention to keeper Mark McNamee who as well as minding the Boden goal also scored two second half 45s and two frees.

Next up for the lads is the County Final against St Margaret’s this Saturday 9th December.  Time and venue to be confirmed.
