Boden Óg (6-8)

Boden Óg 2023 – 2024

Boden Óg is an initiative run by Ballyboden St Enda’s to introduce children to Gaelic Games in a way that is fun, enjoyable and age-appropriate.

Run by qualified volunteer coaches, Boden Óg takes place every weekend commencing 23rd September until June, with a break over the Christmas period. Through a games-based approach in a fun environment the volunteer coaches engage children in age-appropriate activities with a focus on developing their fundamental movement, gaelic football, hurling/camogie skills.

Boden Óg activities are spread out over four locations – Ballycullen (Knocklyon Park); Cherryfield; The Hermitage (St Enda’s Park); Sancta Maria (All Weather Pitch). Children will be assigned to a venue based upon their home location.

Boden Óg is a great way for children to develop their confidence, make friends and be actively involved in playing our wonderful Gaelic Games. It is also an opportunity for parents to volunteer and become involved in the Ballyboden St Enda’s community.

Can I volunteer to help with Boden Óg 2023/2024?

We really encourage mams and dads to get involved and volunteer with Boden Óg. There are a number of roles available – from coaching, to helping with set-up to assisting with the administration of Boden Óg – all helping hands are really appreciated!

It doesn’t matter if you have no playing or coaching experience – the Club will run an “Introduction to Coaching Gaelic Games” course for all interested parents.

If you’re interested in helping out you can either contact Seán Óg Boyce or approach one of the organisers at Boden Óg – it is a great way of getting involved, developing new skills and meeting people.

I have more questions, who do I contact?
