Division 10 Ladies Football Championship Final

Our Minor C Ladies played their Championship Final on Saturday 24th September. The girls were away to Good Counsel/Liffey Gaels and the game was set for the pitch in Galtymore Road, Drimnagh. The girls had done well in their group games and Semi Final and they were well up for the final. Good Counsel/Liffey Gaels had also won all their games so it was never going to be an easy game!

The opposition started strongly and within 10 minutes, it was 2-01 to 1 point, a bad start for our ladies but they got stuck into it and managed to get a few scores. This gave them the momentum and confidence to give it their all in the second half which is exactly what they did. They held the opposition to a couple off points and managed to score 2-03 to put them 2 points behind with couple of minutes of play left. Unfortunately the vital score never came and with very little injury time played their Championship was over. Final score 2-08 to 2-06

It was heartbreaking to see the girls try so hard and just come up short in the end. On the plus side, they have been a pleasure to watch in the Championship playing some great football and with some great scores and saves! Well done to all!

Thanks to Tracy, Maurice, Karl and Brendan for helping out at the games and to Cliona for the photography
