Our Gaelic for Mother and Others held their Annual Blitz in the club last Saturday. They had a great day of sunshine, fun and lots of football. Teams travelled from Geraldine P Morans, who played in their last Blitz in 2019, Naomh Olafs who had a blitz last year the ladies  participated in. St Judes came from across the river, a team only newly set up this year. And lastly, we had Cuala. Unfortunately, one of their team-mates had a nasty fall in the first match. We send all our best wishes for her fast recovery.

Ballyboden Bronchos fielded two teams so there was plenty of action from the two teams. Lots of points scored over the bar by the boot and hand fists. All teams played between three to four matches each and were equally matched which guaranteed lots of action. There were plenty of refreshments to be had, gorgeous sandwiches, fifteens, fruit with Prosecco to finish off! The great success of the Blitz was celebrated in the Clubhouse marquee afterwards with lots of dancing and of course lots of wishes for Carmel from Cork who gets married in three weeks time .

A huge thank you to the women who organised the Blitz showing great teamwork off the pitch as well as on the pitch. Thanks also to all the family members who helped set up and clear up. A special thanks to our warm-up person, Hanna of Shape Up Hanna on Instagram. Thanks to Eamonn O’Sullivan for being Photographer for the day. Thanks to the very important people in traffic control Martin Durkin and Peter Hanrahan. Thanks to the face painters Sophie and Ella who amazed the children with their talents. Thanks to Club Chairman Donagh O’Farrell for getting the proceedings started. And finally thanks to all the friends and family who came along to support on the day, the ladies really appreciated it.

Training is finished for the Summer holidays but will be back late August. And the ladies are hopeful that they will get the nod for the G4MO All Ireland Blitz in September 2023.
