A 12 point victory in the opening game of the season, albeit against a Thomas Davis side that were missing some key players, will nevertheless give the home side a good deal of confidence for the year ahead.
An Aisling Byrne goal after just one minute was just what the doctor ordered for Boden but subsequently they struggled to impose themselves on the game. Despite this, they lead at half-time by 2pts on a score line of 2.4 to 1.5.
The second period saw the home side take over proceedings. Another goal from Byrne and two from the impressive Rebecca McDonald saw Thomas Davis struggle to keep in touch and the game became increasingly one sided. Final score of 4.12 to 1.9.
Game time was given to newcomers Karyn Burke, Amy Brennan, Heather Bolger, Megan Deignan and goalkeeper Ali Ramsden who all performed well and will be a positive addition to the team in the weeks ahead.
