Ballyboden St. Endas 4 – 7 St. Oliver Plunketts/Eoghan Ruadh 1 – 4

The Junior B camogie team managed by John Hayes, Jim Cremin, Trish Seery and Rosie Treacy showed some nice touches to defeat St. Oliver Plunketts/Eoghan Ruadh at Pairc Uí Mhurchú on Sunday morning.

The visitors were first to score but once the impressive Jill Seery fired over two points the Boden side looked capable of victory. Eimear Lucey fresh from her European Hockey success with the Irish Under 16 team pointed a great free and Kathryn Corrigan added a neat point from full forward to leave the homeside leading 0 – 4 to 0 – 1 at the interval.

Nineteen seconds after the restart, the crucial goal came from Kathryn and 6 minutes later an unfortunate o.g. for Plunketts effectively killed their chances. Kathryn added a second goal to dispel any faint hopes of a revival for the visitors.

Joanne Cummins and Laura Nolan held the upperhand at midfield and each scored fine points. Emma Seery was a tower of strength at corner back and Carmel Cremin and Michelle Glynn dealt capably with anything that came their way.

In goal Carol Ryan was very assured.

Aisling Hayes was doing excellently at wing back until forced to retire through injury but sub Annemarie Byrne was an able replacement.

Grace Fee anchored the centre back position and Ailish Smith was very effective on the wing.

Sarah Pope and Mary Hyland were always to the fore in ensuring a plentiful supply to the full forward line and inside Sinead Treacy had a hand in creating several scores.
