St. Vincents showcased why they are the Dublin and Leinster Champions when they were hosted by Senior Camogie on PUM on Sunday 24th. An early goal got them off the mark first, but Boden responded with a free from Doireann Mullany. Vincent’s worked several more scores, while points from Leonie Power and Katie McDonald narrowing the margin. Strong defence from Sadie Codd and Alice Rudden denied several Vincent’s scoring opportunities. Half-time score 1-08 to 0-04 to Vincent’s.
With a bit of a hill to climb in the second half, Boden needed to up the ante. However, with several Vincent’s scores before a Boden reply, it wasn’t meant to be for the Senior Camogie team. Full-time score St. Vincent’s 3-21, Boden 0-07.
Scorers: Doireann Mullany (0-01, 1f), Leonie Power (0-02), Katie McDonald (0-04, 4f)
It was great to have an exhibition game at halftime once again this weekend, with U12 Camogie showcasing their talents. Well done to all involved.
Many thanks to John Kirwan for the match day photos.
With a second place finish in the group stages, Boden now take on St. Jude’s away from home on Sunday 1st October, which promises to be a cracking local battle. Please come across to Tymon Park to support the team.
