Last Saturday we welcomed the return of the Annual Poc Fada on our newly designed course in Cherryfield. It was a tremendous occasion with 20 Adult Teams of three participating. Each team had a referee appointed to accompany them on their journey around the course. The feedback was most encouraging with all expressing the view that the course was challenging but fair.
The winning team took 23 shots to complete the score and lost no ball in the process. The second placed team also had 23 shots but had incurred a penalty stroke for losing a ball!!!!
Kevin Desmond, Alex Murphy, Karl Reddy and Keith McCarron took the coveted prize… well done to them and thanks to their referee, Brian Kelleher who ensured they kept within the rules.
The club was buzzing on Saturday evening for the Poc Fada BBQ and the presentation of prizes. Sincere thanks to Ardstone for their sponsorship of the event.
The Juvenile Section also had their own Poc Fada on the morning. 17 mixed ability teams took part on a shortened course under the watchful eye of Seamus Vaughan. Congratulations to Cian O’Regan, Rory Cairns and Alan Delaney who snatched the top prize.
