Féile Iomána 2004

On Saturday and Sunday next, August 28th and 29th, Ballyboden St. Enda’s will run our third annual juvenile hurling féile.

Our Féile Iomána started out in 2002 as an U9 and U10 competition to give our players a chance to practice the skills they’ve learned through the year and to play against quality teams from other counties. There is a big emphasis on fun and the winning teams will receive Ballyboden St. Endas Winner’s t-shirts.

A Ballyboden team from each age group will compete against three visiting teams as follows:

U9 (Saturday morning): Ballyragget (Kilkenny), Postlaoise (Laois), Cuala (Dublin)

U10 (Sat. afternoon): Durlas Óg (Tipperary), Tullamore (Offaly), Kevins (Dublin)

U11 (Sun. morning): Birr (Offaly), Clara (Kilkenny), Faythe Harriers (Wexford)

U12 (Sun afternoon): St. John’s (Antrim), St. Annes (Wexford), Ballygunner (Waterford)

There will be three round robin games for each team followed by a shield final and final. A new feature of this year’s tournament will be the presentation of the Cardiff Cup (donated by Kevin Cardiff) to the winners of the U12 competition. This cup was previously presented to the winners of a local street league.
