Junior 5 all county championship Semi-final v Ballymun Kickhams. Result BBSE 5-15  Ballymun 2-10

Pairc uí Ciceam was the venue for the semi final clash with this fancied Ballymun kickhams side for our Junior Cs. There was a discussion with the ref beforehand whether to switch to the all weather pitch, but we went ahead on the grass. Semi finals are there to be won and we came out of the blocks very quickly with Rochey registering our 1st pt quickly followed by Cian Mellets clever goal after great build up play. Playing with a slight breeze,  Ballymun grew into the game and clipped the next 4 pts. A well taken Ballymun goal had them in the ascendancy.  A couple of positional switches were required in defence which proved crucial to the outcome of the match. A brilliant penalty save by Alan in goal seemed to galvanise our lads. The woodwork was rattled shortly after. We were riding our luck. The tide was about to turn as we approached half time.

We went into the break 2 pts down so all to play for especially with the breeze in the second half. One change at half time with Cashman coming in for Dan who played a full match for the 21s the previous day.
There was no panic in the team talk at half time,  improvement was required and boy did they deliver.  Josh Kane and his new midfield partner, Lynchy, were ruling the skies giving great ball in to the forwards. From being 2 pts down we were 9 up within 10 mins, after Rochey completed his hat trick of goals and points.
Dean Ralph at centre back, was the conductor of the orchestra, constantly on the attack keeping Ballymun on the back foot. Defence tightened  up and the full press on their keepers kick outs was working a treat. Eoin O’Dowd  was winning all the breaks and dirty ball. Conor, Ray, Cian and Cashman were out in front of their men gaining quality possession and scoring some beauties. Another penalty save by Al in goal was brilliant.  A dubious decision to say the least.  For a big man, Josh covered some ground on that heavy pitch.
Plenty of work to do before our final this Sunday against a Skerries Harps team who beat us by 16pts in the round Robin in PUM.
Congrats to the panel for making it this far. Hopefully we do ourselves and our club proud in the final

Solid performance today by our U21 team.  The workman like performance by our back six provided a sound foundation for midfielders and half forwards to go on the offensive throughout the game. All of our players performed to the best of their ability with Luke Corcoran, Aidan Mellet, Mark & Dylan Walsh, Dan O’Riordan and Shane Kennedy leading the way. Main scores for Boden – Dylan Walsh, Shane Kennedy and Dan O’Riordan.
