Result: 1-12 to 0-08

The U21 hurlers started the defence of our Under 21 title with a win over last year’s beaten finalists,  Kilmacud Crokes. Struggling to make up a panel there were frantic calls made to all and sundry. Thankfully a positive response from Ronan Glynn, Andy Hand and the Minor management ensured we had a panel of 23 players. The match was rescheduled for 1 pm on Saturday in Silverpark.

BBSE started brightly enough with two 65s from centre-back Cillian Moffat. Captain Stephen O Connor led the first half scoring with 1 01 and Boden went in at half time with an 8 point lead. The second half was a different story with Crokes dominant for 17 minutes where they outscored Boden by 3pts.  Nice points by Naoise Greene and Gavin Corrigan closed out the game with Boden winning by 1 12 to 0 08. Given that this was a weakened Crokes side, Boden management have a lot to think about. Hopefully the celebrations that marked a magnificent Senior B campaign are well and truly over!! On the plus side we had 8 scorers with a man of the match display by Oisin Cannon at full back.
