Ballyboden St.Enda’s vs Naomh Jude

Game began much how it played out, with nothing going right for the ladies in blue and white. The scoring got off to a controversial start with the referee overruling both umpires and giving a point to Naomh Jude, when the ball was waved wide. Despite Boden going ahead with two points from placed balls by Mairead Luttrell, Judes responded with a goal and a point. Only four points were added to the Judes scoresheet before the half time whistle went.

The second half seemed to be promising, the Boden side had plenty of possession within the first 10 minutes, but unfortunately couldn’t convert. A goal chance from captain Martha O’Donoghue was saved on the line. The second half played out much as the first did; Judes kept the points ticking over, utilising their pace, accurate first touch and acute shooting skills.  Boden added three points to their, score sheet, all from Luttrell. A tough match for the ladies, with nothing going their way. Final score, 2-10 to 0-6 to Judes.

U14A’s reach Championship Final

Our U14A Camogie team reached their Championship Final at the weekend without hitting a ball after their final group match against Kilmacud was conceded before the weekend. This meant that by virtue of their 4 wins out of 4, that the girls go straight to the Final at the end of October. They now await the winner of a Semi-Final between the 2nd and 3rd place teams in the group.

However, not being ones to rest on their laurels, the girls headed out to Naomh Mearnóg on Sunday for a friendly which proved a useful competitive outing. Fortunately for them, the match coincided with Naomh Mearnóg’s family fun day so the girls had a selection of burgers and ice cream to choose from before getting to meet their childhood favourites (pictured)
