On a busy weekend of Championship action we had comprehensive wins for the Senior A’s over St Brigids and Senior C’s over Erin go Bragh. The Senior B’s were unfortunate to go down to some late scores from Crumlin. This coming weekend the only Senior team in action are the C’s who have a short trip to Faughs on Sunday morning, throw in 11am.On the Juvenile front we had a disappointing weekend in general despite some good performances. Notable mention once again to our U12 Teams who both recorded convincing wins away to Castleknock.
Senior 1 Championship Ballyboden St Endas Senior A 5-20 St Brigids 1-3
The Senior 1 Camoige team had their second outing in the championship on Sunday against St. Brigids. This was a hard physical game throughout. Ballyboden started well with a point from Paula McGrath but were really shocked into action by the concession of a goal after 10minutes. For the remainder of the half they outscored their opponents 2 goals and 13 points to just a solitary point. The goals coming from Aisling O’Leary and Jill Horan. All players on the pitch contributed to the scores. From the defenders breaking down attacks and setting up scores to the forwards creating space and finished some fantastic moves.
The challenge for the second half was to continue the level of performance. After a slow start again the girls picked off some nice scores and finished the half strongly. This was a solid team performance and the team can now look forward to the final group game against Na Fianna in two weeks’ time.
Senior 3 Championship Crumlin 4-8 Ballyboden St Endas Senior B 3-9
One that got away! After a sluggish first half from both sides, Crumlin led at half time by 2-4 to 2-3. Crumlin started the second half well adding 2 further points. Then Boden had a good period of dominance, scoring 1-6 including some fine scores. With 10 minutes remaining Boden were 5 points ahead and looked to be in control of the game.
However a late burst from the home team gave them a narrow victory. We now await the result of the next Group game between Crumlin and Na Fianna to see where the group will stand.

U16A Championship St Vincents 1-7 Ballyboden St Endas U16A 0-8
Another one that got away!! After a great win away to Ballinteer a few weeks ago, we knew that this would be a stern challenge. Vincents started well, a couple of early points and a fortunate goal had them ahead early on. Boden settled well into the game with Hannah Hyland dominating in the full back line and Orla Tevlin playing a stormer in the half back line. Unfortunately we could’nt make the most of numerous goal chances. Claire Kirwan & Emer O’ Leary pointed to leave the halt time score Vincents leading by 1-5 to 0-3.
The Boden girls dominated the second half. When Vincents did venture forward Cora was assured and composed in goal, and her distribution was terrific. Jodie picked off some fine points from open play added to a couple of frees to let the sides level inside the final 10 minutes, with Boden on the front foot. However it was’nt to be, with the opposition putting over 2 placed balls to run out winners in a thrilling game.We now await the result of the final group game between Ballinteer & Vincents next week. The girls can hold their heads up high after a spirited comeback, and won’t fear whichever opponent is put in front of them!
