Senior A Camogie Championship – 22nd September 2019, Pairc Uí Mhurchú
Ballyboden St.Endas 1-11, Lucan Sarsfield 1-10.
The Boden ladies came out on top in this thrilling championship game in Pairc Uí Mhurchú on Sunday morning. This was championship camogie at its best with great scores, tackles, hooks and blocks with great levels of fitness and dedication on display from both teams. The Boden girls looked the better outfit, racing into a two point lead early on in the game. However, a goal by Lucan from a goalmouth scramble gave them a huge boost and they scored two more points in quick succession to lead by 1-4 to 0-4 at half time. Boden responded magnificently on the resumption, scoring an early goal and a couple of points to re-take the lead. Lucan were not done though and responded well with points to ensure this game would go right down to the wire. Both teams were now going toe to toe and matching each other, score for score. This second half was probably the best half of camogie produced this year by the Boden team as they were asked serious questions by a game Lucan outfit. It became evident in the heat of battle that Bodens desire to win this game was slightly greater than their opponents and, spurred on by their enthusiastic supporters, they edged this game by the slimmest of margins.
