Ballyboden St Endas, Senior C v Ranelagh Gaels. Wednesday 11th August, 7.30pm Cherryfield
Last Wednesday night was Semi Final night for the Ballyboden Ladies Senior C team in Cherryfield and another fantastic display of football was the order of the night with Ranelagh Gaels providing fierce competition in the battle to make it to the Championship Final. The Ballyboden ladies were in flying form once again with standout performances from all. The bench was as strong as the starting 15 team which gave the selectors options from the half time break. Lucy O’Shea had an outstanding game in the backs for Ballyboden, making support runs and feeding some superb balls in to the forwards. The backs held their own, once again, with the Cunningham sisters Kiara and Amy solid as always. The fitness stood to the girls after the half time break with no let up on the pressure they put on the Ranelagh ladies. Every turnover in possession from the backs was quickly distributed up the pitch to create scoring chances, most of which we managed to work to our advantage. Some superb points from Aisling Gargan, Eva Brennan, Olivia Meagher and Sarah Moore The last few tough encounters have certainly stood to these ladies and they are ready and fired up for next week’s showdown v Naomh Mearnog. Bring it on!
