Go-Ahead Adult League Division One Ballyboden St Endas v Foxrock Cabinteely, Wednesday 19th April, Kilbogget Park. Our Senior A ladies footballers headed to Kilbogget Park last Wednesday night for their second league match of the season where they took on their great rivals Foxrock Cabinteely.
The opposition have undoubtedly been the leading team in Dublin football over the last number of years so it was a game our girls were looking forward to.

In the opening 10 minutes, both teams were sussing each other out with a few tentative scores accruing but on the 11th minute full forward Natalia Hyland struck a fine goal after missing a sitter a minute earlier!
That score settled the visitors and even though a couple of nice frees from the boot of Katie McNally kept Fox/Cab in touch as the half progressed Ballyboden were beginning to gain the upper hand.
A second goal by the in form Hyland on 20 minutes put daylight between the teams with the ‘Boden defence, particularly the half back line of Hannah Byrne,Jenny Walsh and Alice Rudden snuffing out any chance of a comeback.
Half time score:
BBSE 2.05
Foxrock / Cabinteely 0.03

In the second half, the tempo of the game dropped slightly but there was no real danger from the home side as Hannah Hyland, Niamh McMahon, the complete half back line, newcomer Sarah Baynes in the middle, and forwards Alanna McGarry, Kate Donaghy, Shauna Feely and of course Natalia Hyland continued to impress with their work rate and skill levels.
A 9 points victory in the end with the Fox/ Cab management making the comment after the game that they were impressed with “our conditioning” which is a complement to the fitness work put in by the squad so far this season.
Final result:
Boden 2.9
Fox/ Cab 0.6

Scorers: Natalia Hyland 2.3, Sarah Baynes and Alanna McGarry 0.2 each, Kate Donaghy and Shauna Feely 0.1 each.
