The U13s came out the wrong side of the scoreboard in their 2 most recent highly competitive matches.

See how the girls themselves saw it, in their own words.

Ballyboden U13A 2-6   Lucan Sarsfields 4-3 (League Division 1)

Match report by Lucy Horan (U13)

June 26th 2016

On Sunday morning we, the U13 division one camogie team played Lucan the league leaders in a very tough match. It was played in Cherryfield in very wet conditions.

Boden had six u12s playing up as five of our players were unavailable and they were brilliant. It was a great battle and no one gave up.

We got the first point through Jennifer but Lucan scored two quick goals. The Lucan goalkeeper made some great saves to keep them five points up at half time.

We played with the hill in the second half with our heads held high and with nothing to fear. The midfield covered a lot of ground and kept fighting. We picked off points to narrow the gap and in the last 5 minutes we scored a goal, but couldn’t get the ball into the forwards for the equaliser. When the final whistle was blown we knew we played well enough to win and scare the league winners. It was a great game and although we lost 2-6 to 4-3 we played really well.

We’ll get them next time!

Ballyboden U13A 3-2   St. Judes 3-3

Match report by Erin Christie (U13)

June 12th 2016

The match against Judes was hard but we fought well and made it a close game.  Even the Ref said it was a good match.

The Hill made a big difference in the first half but we fought on and got a goal and a point.  But Judes took advantage of the hill and scored 2-3.

We made up for it in the second half and in the end the score was 3.3 – 3.2.

Everybody played great. Mia and Katie took some super scores. Saoirse made many important hooks and blocks and made a big difference on the game.  Lucy made some important saves in Goal in the first half which kept us in it.

It was good to be part of a team that all tried so hard for the full match and thanks to the U12s who did well against such tough opposition.
