A final quarter four goal blitz helped to turn what looked like heavy defeat for our U16B’s into a sweet sweet victory at a hot Silverpark on Sunday afternoon. Both teams traded blows throughout the first half with our girls keeping themselves in the game with a 6 point deficit at half-time. After the restart, Crokes upped the pressure significantly and the Boden girls worked hard but could not get anything to click. By the final water break, Boden were 12 points down and playing for more than pride, they took to the field with determination. As if a switch had been flicked on, what followed will be long remembered – Hannah Brennan slotted in 2 classy goals in quick succession, which lit the fuse for a Boden Blitz. Suddenly everything was working perfectly, added goals from Millie O’Reilly and Emily White drew the match level with only moments left. The Boden onlookeers already delirious from the heat and with the nerves shot, watched as Boden finished strongly with 2 more points to secure a memorable victory in this league opener.
