Ballyboden St Enda’s are delighted to announce the partnership with Naomh Gall from Belfast. This partnership is new to both Ballyboden St Enda’s and Naomh Gall and both are looking forward to working closely together in the future.
Situated in Milltown Park on Falls Road Belfast, Co Antrim – Naomh Gall won the All Ireland Senior Men’s Football Club Final in 2010, they also celebrated their centenary in 2010. They have teams in all four codes and also field teams in handball and Gaelic 4 Mothers & Others.
This weekend we see Ballyboden St Enda’s hurlers take on Naomh Gall hurlers in two games in Pairc Uí Mhurchú from 1pm followed by a football challenge match next weekend.
Donagh O’Farrell – Chairperson, Ballyboden St Enda’s
Ballyboden St. Enda’s are really looking forward to the next two weekends where we welcome, first the hurlers, and then the footballers of Naomh Gall to play us in Páirc Uí Mhurchú, our home on the Firhouse Road. From the first approach by the Naomh Gall Club Executive, it was clear there was only an upside to getting to know each other. An initial chat confirmed both clubs would benefit from a ready made contact with a club based in the other city. That grew into the idea of a partnership and contact details at various levels were exchanged, resulting in the games over the next two weekends being arranged. Boden has a great tradition of bringing teams, adult and juvenile, to play clubs outside Dublin. One aspect of this partnership we’re especially looking forward to is continuing that tradition, with the opportunity to play in Belfast. With both clubs so invested in their respective communities, we look forward to many exchanges, cultural and sporting over the coming years where we’ll learn from, grow with, and take enjoyment from our new friendship.
Michael Culbert – Chairperson, Naomh Gall
Naomh Gall are delighted to be able to work in close partnership with a club of the quality and history of Ballyboden St Enda’s. These upcoming friendly matches are a great way to begin our cross border relationship, and an excellent opportunity for our players to not only benchmark against each other, but to build what will hopefully become long lasting relations with their Dublin gaels. We plan to liaise closely together on a range of Sporting, Cultural and Social events, with a focus on youth activities. We look forward to what the future can bring for both clubs as we begin this journey with Ballyboden St Enda’s.
