Result: 1-05 to 0-10
The JB’s were back in action in the League on a fine Sunday afternoon. The numbers were tight but the passion and intensity were high. Oisin Cannon collected the ball in the middle of the park and some neat passing ensued. Oisin broke down the right wing and sent the ball high over the bar for a point. Starlights responded with two points of their own before Colum Reade scored a peach of a point. Game on. A fine solo goal from Dave McCabe set the game up nicely at half time. However,Starlights came out of the blocks the more clinical in the second half. Points from Niall O’Connor and young McCabe kept Boden in the game. The low scoreline suggests a dour game but this was far from the reality. Personal battles were fought all over the field. The JBs can be proud of their display with some excellent football on display. Perhaps a little bit of composure in front of goal is needed but a huge amount of positives can be taken from the game.
