Last week we came to the end of another great season of activity as part of Boden Óg. Over the course of the year, almost 200 boys and girls have had the opportunity to improve upon their skills of hurling/camogie and gaelic/ladies football through playing games. All the children have had a chance to get a go at playing in different positions and learning the rules gradually.

One of the absolute highlights of the year was the visit of Senior Players to Boden Óg on Saturday, 10 May. Alice Rudden, Ella McNair, Caoimhe O’Sullivan, Katie McDonald, Ally Ramsden and Megan Dignam brought the sunshine to the Hermitage where they spoke to the girls about their experiences of playing camogie and ladies football plus gave some short skills demos! Meanwhile, in Ballycullen, the boys were thrilled to meet Ryan Basquel, Dan McCarthy, Brian Bobbett, James Holland, John McGuire and Jack Lambert. The senior hurlers and footballers tested the players on the skills of both games and showed them some tips and tricks to help them improve. Míle buíochas to our Senior Players for taking the time to meet with the future generation of boden stars!!!

Following the summer break, some of our Boden Óg players will graduate into Go Games while we welcome a new set of children who were involved in Boden Óg Spraoi. We want to say míle buíochas to the children, parents and volunteers who have made the season so fantastic including Caroline Kavanagh, Anne Hogan, Brian Keary, Conor Kenny, Patrick McDonagh, Orla Brady, Phil McCarthy, Emer Hayes, Fiona Hughes, Aoife Phillips, Louise Kelly, David Stritch, Tríona Sweetnam, Keith Bracken, Shane Durkin, Derek O’Dea and Nicola Keogh.
