AHL 3 – BBNÉ 2 17 Naomh Maur 1 11
Thugamar faoin turas fada go CLG Naomh Maur Dé Sathairn seo caite agus pointí ag teastáil go géar. Tráthnóna álainn Samhraidh agus na buachaillí réidh chun comhraic. Bhí bua ag teastáil go géar chun fanacht in AHL3. Even a win may not be enough, but in fairness, this team went about their business with a focus and a purpose that hadn’t been seen in the last few games.
Fuair Rhyss McDonnell an chéad chúilín taobh istigh de nóiméad, quickly followed by an excellent team score from Jason Devery, after a pin point pass from the Brick Wall. When Oisín Byrne goaled after 10 minutes, he was the sixth player to score from play, always a good sign. A key turning point sa chéad leath was a super save from Ronan Sharkey, following some sloppy defensive play. Ronan went on to have his best game to date in this year’s campaign. A well-taken goal by Rhyss ten minutes before the break saw the Boden lads comfortable on the scoreboard.
An scór ag Leathama ná BBNÉ 2-10; St Maurs 1-6
While the scores dried up a bit in the second half, good defensive work by Mo Ormsby, Seán O’Donnell and Josh Corcorcan confined Maurs to 5 points. Garret Crowley kept the scoreboard ticking over, finishing up with 4 points from play, and points from Connell McGlynn, Jason Deverey, Chris Lambert and Oisín Byrne ensured that the result was never in doubt.
A major scoring threat from Maur’s is always the talented Eoin Conroy, ach rinne Ruairí Mac Mathúna sár jab marcála air, agus baineadh Eoin den pháirc go luath sa dara leat.
Laoch na hImeartha: Ruairí Mac Mathúna
Close Contenders: Connell McGlynn, Josh Corcoran, Mo Ormsby
Bua maith mar sin agus dhá chluiche fágtha sa tsraith – i gcoinne CLG Cluain Tarbh agus Naomh Mearnóg.
Ár mbuíochas leis na maoirchúil Daniel Nugent agus Keith O’Donnell.
Best wishes to Player Manager Des O’Sullivan who is got married on Saturday 3 June. No doubt he got back early from the honeymoon for training!
