A picture tells a thousand words. Thanks to the new signs in Sancta Maria (with others to appear in PUM), the thousands of words we could have on Club and GAA values have been captured in six clever eye catching images. Respect, Teamwork, Community, Inclusiveness, Amateurism and Player Welfare  must be at the centre of everything we do in the Club. If you’re ever wondering how or what to do in a situation, a glance at the signs might help you land in the right place.

Boden Clubman David Sweeney generously agreed to design and produce the signs and set out his own spec which was to be inclusive as possible with genderless characters, lots of colour to attract attention with a fun theme because “children play Gaelic games to have fun”. That child and player centred approach in designing the signs mirrors the values themselves perfectly. David’s career as a talented club and county hurler is well known. Currently he’s kept busy as GAA National eLearning manager and coaching at under 9 and minor level in the club. He says he “paints and draws in my spare time.”  Anyone who saw the gift created for Dave Bobbett (in thanks for H&K sponsorship), or the painting completed for the cover of the Club History, understands how big an understatement that is. His latest creation can be added to his artistic contributions for which the Club is hugely  grateful. We’re also very grateful to club member Ken O’Reilly of 3:Rock who erected the signage.
