Wednesday 28th July- Ballyboden St Endas Senior C v Castleknock Senior B
This was the second game out in Championship 2021 for the Boden ladies. Ballyboden travelled to Castleknock for the game and what a treat it was to play on such a fabulous pitch. This game was a tough, physical battle from start to finish, requiring the ladies to dig deep and keep disciplined. It was certainly one of the most physical tests the Boden ladies have faced so far this year with Castleknock putting it up to them in all areas of the pitch. A few tactical switches early on from the Boden management helped to interrupt the pressure on our full back line, who kept their composure throughout the game. Once again, wonderful tracking back from our midfielders and half forward line, supporting the defenders throughout.
It was neck and neck leading into the last water break with the Boden ladies relying on goals to get them through this encounter. A fine display from all the panel, particularly to the bench which was crucial to this win. Sarah Moore in particular, played a blinder to come back off the bench in the last ten minutes and secure our win. Many moments of brilliance from the ladies on display but with an equal amount of weaknesses that need work! Onwards and upwards for our next encounter against Portobello next Wednesday.
Keep the momentum going ladies!!
Final Score: Ballyboden St Endas 6-03 Castleknock 0-13
Wednesday 21st July- Ballyboden St Endas Senior C v Crumlin
First match out for the Boden C team in Championship 2021 and what a game it was. Having played a strong Crumlin side only a few weeks previously, the Boden girls knew what they were going to be up against. A fine performance from both sides, plenty of competition and grit shown out on the pitch, entertaining spectators with an impressive display of football.
The work rate of all 15 Boden girls was outstanding, with a special mention to the work horse Erica Tobin for her determination to cover the pitch in support of her team mates. The defenders stayed cool and calm throughout, defending their turf well and reading the play superbly. Forwards worked hard to keep possession under pressure and work the ball until the opportunities arose to take their scores. All subs made a huge impact when introduced giving management plenty to discuss when picking a team for next week’s championship game.
A fine performance from our Boden C team, as management said, ‘we simply could not not have asked for more’.
Final Score: Ballyboden St Endas 5-17 Crumlin 2-07
