U17 Hurling League Div 1
Faughs 1-10 Boden 2-17.
Following a disappointing league outing against Crokes in the previous round, Boden were looking to get back on the horse and show a reaction to that defeat.
Making a short trip across to our neighbours, a local derby was the perfect setting for the lads to show that reaction. And they most certainly did!
Right from the throw in, there was far more hunger, desire and belief throughout the team. The backs and midfield never let their guard down and delivered a mountain of ball into our forwards who were equally eager to gain possession or hook and harry and create constant menace in and around the Faughs goal.
There were many players to the fore, with honourable mentions to Luke Fitzpatrick, Darragh Delaney and James Casey.
Plenty of improvement is still to be done back on the training field, but the desire, work ethic and passion was most certainly back on display.
Boden now have 8 points after 5 games and are currently joint second. Lucan top the group on 10 points. The teams meet on May 22nd at a Boden venue. Support would be appreciated on the day.

Under 17 B
Heartbreak for our U17B hurlers
There was heartbreak for our Under 17 B hurlers as they lost to Lucan Sarsfields B’s with the final puck of the sliotar in a cracking game of hurling by two very good teams on a Sunny afternoon in Ballycullen.
Ballyboden started very well, crowding the midfield area with huge success. Half time score BBSE 2-5 to Lucans 0-5.
The third quarter was really fast and furious, with great skill and physicality from both teams. Third quarter score BBSE 2-6, Lucan 0-8
In the final quarter, a brilliant goal by Ballyboden’s Rian Mention, was unfortunately the last score for Ballyboden in the match. Lucan now stepped up a gear. Ballyboden’s defense tried to keep them out, but Lucan chipped away at the lead with points from frees. With about 3 minutes to go, Lucan finally scored a goal from a free. Ballyboden tried to hold out for a draw, but Lucan got the winning point from the last free of the match.
The lads were bitterly disappointed, it was their best performance of the year so far. Thanks again to the U16 management for their support to this B team, because without their support there wouldn’t be a U17B hurling team.
