The Boden Minor A’s were on a mid-week tour when they took on Clontarf GAA in their home ground in St Anne’s Park where the going was tough underfoot and in every position across the field. Once again the defence was the bedrock of the performance with gallant displays from Torna Mac Gearailt, William Hook, and Jamie Farrell. The game was in the mix for the first ten minutes as Clontarf opened the scoring with a fine point from distance before Boden got to grips with the game. The Boden boys started scoring and held Clontarf GAA to only two points in the first half.
The scoring frenzy continued in the second half with nine players getting on the score sheet, super points from Dylan Timbs, Alex Dunne, Mark McGlynn, Torna MacGearialt, William Hook, Leon Murphy, James Greally and goals from Lee McConnell and Kevin Byrne put the game out of sight, Clontarf GAA made a good come back towards the end of the game but the damage was done and Boden ran out victorious winners 2.16 to 1.5.
